ArtBots Philadelphia

ArtBots: The Robot Talent Show came to Philadelphia for the first time in the Spring of 2007 thanks, in part, to the efforts of iPRAXIS.

ArtBots is an international art exhibition for robotic art and art-making robots established by Douglas Irving Repetto.  The first showing took place in 2002 in Brooklyn, and has since traveled around the country and around the world.  Each ArtBot is created by working artists, scientists, and technology professionals.

ArtBots Philadelphia 2007 featured the work of middle and high school students alongside the professional artists’ work.  Eight schools took part in the Secondary Robotics Initiative in the School District of Philadelphia will show their work, along with one suburban Philadelphia school.

iPRAXIS also ran an education outreach campaign designed to show students how science and technology turn up in the most unexpected places – like an art exhibit!

Participating Schools:
Clemente Middle School, Dobbins High School, Overbrook High School, Lamberton Elementary School, Labrum Middle School, University City High School, Shaw Middle School, Washington High School and Welsh Valley Middle School (Lower Merion School District).
