Minority Outreach Initiative

The staff of iPRAXIS worked closely with our partner and primary sponsor, the Osiris Group, on a nation-wide initiative to encourage more minorities and people of color within the United States to participate at Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) 2006.

Spearheaded by the international Biotechnology Industry Organization, the Minority Outreach Initiative (MOI) was based on a simple premise: for the biotechnology industry to fulfill its promise of conquering diseases, addressing hunger, and improving quality of life for everyone, all communities must be active participants in the discovery, trade and entrepreneurship of this industry.

To manage this initiative, BIO engaged the Osiris/iPRAXIS team. The MOI achieved its goal of increasing minority participation in the conference by bringing African American and Latino/Hispanic researchers and scientists, community leaders, biotech entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, students and teachers together in Chicago.
